A New Online Auction inTown!

I love web.20 websites that launch in beta and remain in beta forever:-) on the one hand I beleive thing should always be indevelopment and working to improve and on the other hand there is nothing more web2.0 than 'beta'

This new auction site is pretty smart, its called bassabids and basically the lowest unique bid wins the item.

The "lowest unique bidder" is the person who has bid the lowest amount that no other person has bid. A clever thing (or not) is that when two people place the same bid, that number is no longer unique. When a person has a unique bid but there are others that are lower, then it's not the lowest.

To win any of BassaBids online auctions, you must be the one with the lowest AND unique bid at the auction end - the "lowest unique bid". The site is free to try (i won an iPod for $85) !

Wall-Mart Sex Discrimination & Video Online

Whilst in the middle of a chaotic time with 1.3 million women filing lawsuits for sexual discrimination, Wall-Mart have taken the great PR step of announcing trials of its upcoming video download service.

My view... taking the media heat of the impending law suit is one thing, but getting this highly profitable business launched may be the key to saving their corporate skins when they're forced to pay out some $3.2 billion in damages !

Google Poorly Developed Homepage

Quite an amuzing story has been circulating about the number of html errors returned on the google.com homepage.

In a WebmasterWorld thread that the Google home page, does not validate fully.  I ran a quick check at the very useful W3C validation and returned 66 errors, including a No DOCTYPE found.  Should this matter? who knows, its just quite amuzing that the kingz of the web have html validation errors.
