Vodafone teams with Microsoft

Vodafone, The world's largest mobile operator, has signed a deal with Microsoft to produce software for rollout of new services on all mobile handsets.

A Vodafone spokeman has said the new platform deal with MS will speed up the development of new apps and services for all its Windows Mobile devices,

In other news from Newbury, Samsung set to deliver the first handset using this new software on teh Vodafone network in the first half of 2007.

Vodafone have said that this deal does not mean that it will stop its deal with Blackberry or preclude its use on such handsets from Sony Ericsson, which doesn't use Symbian/S60.

We will wait to see how this pans out. The future's here and it may not be orange!
